So for over a year now, WMG took all the Disturbed videos off YouTube.  Now approximately half of Disturbed's videos on Myspace are 30 second samples.

What WMG doesn't realize is that it is really going to hurt record sales, as a music video is really just a 4 minute commercial to buy the CD.

they are realy trying to destroy the industry now.

someone say something hilarious? just feel like being awsome? Click on the blue heart next to the post of a person to give him/her/it more reputation.
also, it works both ways, if someone is being a douche feel free to give negative rep. (though no one likes a negative nancy so try and keep things positive.)

Hopefully they do knock out a couple of the major labels.

yo c'mon it was pretty good considering the drums and guitar was made in garageband!

I think all music should be self-produced, sure the sound's gonna be a bit more raw, but the bands will benefit much more from record sales, prices won't need to be so ridiculous (no need to pay a record label that doesn't exist) and it will completely do away with all the bullshit "politics" involved in big record labels and commercialization.

Also gives bands and artists more room to do what they want.

I like some smaller labels, but major labels are a no-no. Getting signed to a smaller label is awesome, because you can actually get stuff printed IRL, and not to mention promotion from the label.

They are great for finding new bands, and pre-ordering stuff.

When they start to "cheat" on the bands, however, then they should just die.

Warner has been real a$$holes this year. They were banning videos/accounts on Youtube with audio of bands even from other labels!

Companies that do s*** like this do not deserve to live. Same with Activision almost single-handedly killing the music game genre due to oversaturation with the Guitar Hero games.

Guitar Hero actually got me to start playing guitar again, as I realized that playing a plastic guitar won't do anything.

The videos are back up though.

Guitar Hero was originally created by Harmonix. Then Activision bought out RedOctane and got the rights to Guitar Hero, and Harmonix joined forces with MTV and EA and created Rock Band. Activision started making Guitar Hero with Guitar Hero 3.

Rock Band is the reason why I am playing drums now. Before playing Rock Band, I had never even touched a drum set in my life. Now, while I am not a great drummer and don't have any songs memorized, if I am looking at the note chart in the game I can play a real set and have it sound like the song. While not trying to play a song, I am able to keep a beat going. All of this with NO drum lessons whatsoever. Just playing Rock band.
