I mean, I'm all for Goregrind, but comparing it to Nile, dude...
Nile is "supposedly" technical death, but their tone doesnt let any of that technicality show up, and the Egyptian motifs are out of place imo Theyre good overall, and Sanders and Dallas are cool dudes ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O6n05kKEaKs# =D) but nothing i would drool over. At least in Devourment you clearly hear the chuging, and they come up with some awesome rythms on guitar with background double bass blast beats. And their stuff is technically challenging to an extent, sure there are no solos or wank, but some parts have ridiculously fast rythms, combined with having to chug that palm-muted and all-downpicked, it is hard. |

Don't get me wrong, I like Devourment, but there's nothing they've done that even begins to compare to Nile. Plus, there's a lot of better Goregrind to be found.

Except uninteligible tone is what makes Burzum great. Thres the constant fuzz, but thre are those awesome undertones and buzzsaw guitar riffs. And he did it all at such a young age all by himself. Dunno, i just cant get into tech death where i cant hear the technicality. Also, Babykiller by Devourment has better riffs than any Nile song. imo |
