watched HP HBP.. yup, I give it a 4/5. or maybe 8.5 of ten. stayed true to the book, MUCH better adaptation than OotP
dude what movie did you watch? seriously, it did not stay true to the book... the book is dark and scary with all sorts of bad stuff, the movie on the other hand is funny and light hearted. no funeral, no big battle at the end, the part in the middle at the burrow, all the other memories that are important. they focussed way too much on all the love thingy's. it's still a good movie but if you want the HBP story you should read the book... |

Well, duh, the book is better, but so is every book a movie adaptation has had the chance to besmirch. I was disappointed with the exclusion of the burrow, and the funeral/abrupt ending was one of the reasons it wasn't higher and just got a B rating. Still, the best adaptation since Azkaban. OotP sucked, but maybe it's because I've read it more times than the HBP and thus noted all the things left out more.

i felt it was a good job
the funeral is rumored to be the beggining of the next movie
and the director left out the battle because he felt two battles in hogwarts would be stale so this way in his mind the final battle wont seem like deja vu. but bigger
